On August 4, after completing immigration procedures, the Customs Department at Tan Son Nhat International Airport found luggage which had not been collected. At 11pm on the same day, Parameswary contacted the airport authorities to collect her missing luggage,

The Customs discovered nearly 1.7kg heroin hidden in the suitcase.

Although Parameswary said she had no knowledge of the contents of the suitcase, she was held accountable for transporting the drugs into Vietnam.
