The patient, a resident of Thanh Khe district in Da Nang, had originally been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus before being admitted on July 27 to the Da Nang Hospital for Lung Diseases.
After going on to record three consecutive negative tests for the virus, the patient was subsequently released from hospital on August 10 before undergoing a period of isolation at her home in Thanh Khe district.
After the conclusion of the 14-day isolation period in line with the Health Ministry’s regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control, the patient had sample taken for the RT-PCR test on August 24, with her result coming back positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Following this, she tested positive for the virus once again on August 27, whilst three of her relatives tested negative for COVID-19.
Due to fears regarding the threat of local transmission, authorities have swiftly moved to lock down her home, whilst also continuing to conduct tests on those people who came into close contact with the patient.
