A 40-year-old woman, a resident of Hanoi capital, took VN5002 flight from Saudi Arabia to Vietnam’s Can Tho International Airport on August 9 and was subsequently placed in quarantine in Bac Lieu province.
She was sampled on August 11 and the test proved she had carried the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the COVID-19 disease.
Meanwhile, two cases of community transmission are both Vietnamese, with one living in Ho Chi Minh City and the other in Quang Nam.
The Ho Chi Minh City resident, 53, moved to Quang Nam on July 28 to take care of her mother, who was later confirmed to have carried the virus, at the Quang Nam General Hospital.
She also had direct contact with another COVID-19 patient on August 29 and tested positive on August 12.
The other woman of Quang Nam province, 83, is the mother of a COVID019 patient. She was admitted to the Da Nang Hospital for treatment from July 9-23. She returned to her home in Hoi An town on July 23 and stayed there until she tested positive on August 12.
