All the new four patients are Vietnamese citizens, with two living in Hanoi, one in Ho Chi Minh City and one in Ha Giang province in the north.

The two patients of Hanoi are closely linked to another patient of the capital city who had previously been found to contract the deadly virus that causes the COVID-19 disease.

One of them is the relative and the other is the neighbour of the already confirmed patient. They were both said to have close contact with the patient.

Meanwhile, the 6-year-old boy of HCM City had lived with his five-member family in Cambodia before returning to Vietnam on April 8. Two of his relatives were confirmed to carry the deadly virus and are being treated in Cambodia.

Upon arriving in Vietnam, the boy and his two relatives were immediately transported to the general hospital of Tay Ninh province bordering Cambodia for coronavirus testing.

Test results by the Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute showed that the boy was infected with the virus, while his two relatives turned out to be free from the disease.

As of 06.00pm April 9, Vietnam had recorded 255 coronavirus cases, with 128 cases fully recovering from the disease.
