COVID-19: Serbian expert infected, Vietnam has 370 cases

VOV.VN - A Serbian expert has been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in Vietnam to 370, the Ministry of Health said in its July 11 morning update.

The Serbian citizen, who works for Hoa Phat Industrial Manufacturing Group, returned to Vietnam from Oman on July 9.

He was transferred to a concentrated quarantine facility upon arrival at Da Nang International Airport, and subsequent tests showed the man had been infected with the virus.

The expert is being isolated at a quarantine facility of Dung Quat Industrial Park in Quang Ngai province.  

The new infection has brought the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Vietnam to 370.

Of the total, 350 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital, making up 94.6%. On July 10, three COVID-19 patients were released from hospital, including a six-year-old boy.

Currently, 20 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals across the countries, with four of them having tested negative at least once.

According to the Ministry of Health, Vietnam has gone through 87 days without new locally transmitted infections.
