According to the ministry, Vietnam has registered no new COVID-19 cases for the past five days and no new infections in the community for the past 13 days.

The total number of confirmed patients remains unchanged at 270, of whom 219 patients have fully recovered and the other 51 patients are receiving treatment at health facilities.

Two recovered patients were sent to the Central Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Hanoi after being diagnosed again with the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the COVID-19 disease.

To date, 11 recovered patients have relapsed, and epidemiologists are examining why these patients had carried the virus again.

However, doctors initially played down the possibility that these recoveries could be infected with the virus again. They said the test results could be considered false positive as the testing machine can detect those dead or non-viable viruses.
