Case 242 is a 47-year-old male patient of Vietnamese nationality, residing in Me Linh commune, Me Linh district of Hanoi.
The patient had close contact with family members, relatives and business associates. On April 4, his sample were taken by the Hanoi Center for Disease Control which later reported his result positive for SARS-CoV-2.
The remaining female patients (243,244,245), aged 34, 44, 21, were confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) by the Hanoi Center for Disease Control. They are now kept in quarantine immediately after returning to Vietnam from the epidemic-hit countries of Russia, Germany and Spain, and are receiving treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh district of Hanoi.
There has been a total of 245 coronavirus cases recorded nationally as of 6 pm on April 6, with 95 being released from hospital, whilst the remaining cases are undergoing treatment at medical facilities throughout the nation.
Vietnam is ranked 96th in the world in terms of number of positive COVID-19 cases and is one of the three countries to record more than 200 infected cases and have no fatalities.
