VOV.VN - A 28 year-old resident of the central province of Quang Nam has become Vietnam's 31st patient who died of pneumonia caused by COVID-19 complications, the Ministry of Health said on August 29.

The patient had suffered leukemia lymphoid, and myelosuppression.

On the morning of August 29, the patient died at Da Nang Lung Hospital, and his death was attributed to pneumonia caused by COVID-19 complications, septic shock, irreversible multi-organ failure in a patient with acute leukemia and myelosuppression.

Vietnam has so far recorded a total of 1,038 coronavirus infections, including 689 cases of local transmission, 349 imported into the nation and 31 fatalities related to the novel coronavirus.
