COVID-19: Another infection detected from France, total at 326 cases

VOV.VN - A Vietnamese citizen who returned from France has been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the COVID-19 disease, taking to 326 the total number of confirmed cases in Vietnam.

The 20-year-old student was among more than 300 Vietnamese citizens repatriated from France, a coronavirus hit country in Europe, on May 24.

All the passengers boarding the Vietnam Airlines flight VN008 were placed in quarantine upon their arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.

The female student tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on May 25 and is now receiving treatment at HCM City-based Cu Chi field hospital.

As of 18.00 May 25, Vietnam had recorded 326 coronavirus cases, with 272 cases having recovered and received discharge from hospital, 04 84% of the confirmed infections.  

The country had gone 39 straight days without fresh locally transmitted infections.

More than 15,000 people who had close contact and returned from epidemic hit countries are currently being quarantined at hospitals, concentrated quarantine facilities and places of residence for medical surveillance.
