COVID-19: 12 more imported cases detected, Vietnam has 396 cases

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health confirmed on July 21 that another 12 people returning from coronavirus hit Russia have been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the country’s tally of COVID-19 infections to 396.

All the newly detected cases are Vietnamese citizens who boarded the VN5062 flight to Vietnam from Russia on July 17, transiting through Belarus.

Upon arriving at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh province, they were immediately transferred to different concentrated quarantine facilities in Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces.

They were tested on July 19 for COVID-19 and the results came back positive the same day.

The patients were transferred to medical centres in Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh for medical observation and treatment.

As a result, Vietnam has recorded a total of 396 coronavirus cases since the first infection was confirmed in January. No deaths have been reported.

Of the total figure, 360 patients have fully recovered from the disease, making up 90.9%.

The remaining 36 cases are receiving treatment at different medical centres across the country, with five of them having tested negative at least once. They are all in stable health condition.

According to the Ministry of Health, Vietnam has gone through 96 days in a row without new locally transmitted infections.
