Speaking at an opening ceremony of a vocational training exhibition in Hanoi the same day, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Manh Hung emphasised the importance of developing human resources for APEC - an organisation of 21 member nations that make up 54% of the world’s GDP and 44% of global trade turnover.
He expressed his wish that the results of the event will help promote cooperation in vocational training and education between Vietnam and other APEC nations.
He stressed long-term cooperation should contribute to strengthening mutual understanding, consolidating friendship and bringing huge benefits in economic development, trade, service, science and technology for member nations in the future.
The two-day exhibition introduces vocational training activities and the provision of modern equipment and teaching facilities. Especially, the event also offers an opportunity for Vietnamese students to explore the international partners’ advanced educational models.
APEC leading nations such as the US, Japan, Russia and the Republic of Korea also are introducing their cost-effective training models to attract learners and expand cooperation with Vietnamese partners.
The event is co-organised by the Ministry of Education and Training and APEC partners as part of the APEC Human Resources Development Ministerial Meeting.
