|84% of coronavirus patients have recovered and received discharge from hospital
All the five recovered patients are Vietnamese citizens who were repatriated to Vietnam from epidemic hit countries and were placed in quarantine for medical observation upon their arrival.
Four of them, in their 20s and 30s, returned to Vietnam from the United Arabic Emirates on May 3 and were admitted to Bac Lieu hospital in southern Vietnam on May 7 after being diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the COVID-19 disease. They have three times tested negative for the virus and shown no signs of flu-like symptoms upon their discharge.
The fifth patient, the last one in Quang Ninh province, northern Vietnam, was among 24 Vietnamese passengers confirmed to have carried the virus after returning from Russia. The 50-year-old woman is currently in stable health condition, without a cough, a high temperature or shortness of breath.
All the released patients are required to self-isolate for 14 days according to regulations to ensure they are completely coronavirus free.
As of May 25 Vietnam had recorded 325 coronavirus infections with 272 cases having recovered and received discharge from hospital. May 25 marked the 39th
consecutive day Vietnam had seen no fresh locally transmitted infections.
