Of the discharged patients, 17 are being released from the Hanoi-based Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, and one from Nho Quan General Hospital in the northern province of Ninh Binh. The remaining three were released from Tra Vinh Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases in the south.
Recent days have seen each of the patients test negative for the virus on a number of separate occasions, with the entire group currently enjoying stable health condition and showing no symptoms of the COVID-19 such as a fever, a cough, or shortness of breath.
After receiving a discharge from the respective hospitals, each of the patients will now be put into isolation in order to undergo 14 days of mandatory observation to ensure there is no possibility of the virus reoccurring.
As of 4pm on April 17, the country has recorded a total of 268 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with no fatalities. Of the total, 198 patients have subsequently gone on to make a complete recovery and have therefore been released from various hospitals from across the country.
