Vietnam pursues a consistent policy of supporting the denuclearization on the Korean peninsula, the comprehensive nuclear test ban, nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear weapon disarmament, Binh said.

"The country is deeply concerned about the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s nuclear test on September 9, 2016 which seriously violated related UN Security Council resolutions, increased tension, threatened peace and stability in the region.

Vietnam called on involved parties to strictly abide by resolutions of the UN Security Council, make practical actions to promote peace and stability on the Korean peninsula," the official added.
