Vietnamese and Lao leaders elated at all-around ties

VOV.VN - Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and his Lao counterpart Bounnhang Volachith showed their elation at the special friendship and practical and effective development of Vietnam-Laos ties in multiple fields, thus bringing benefits to their people and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and beyond.

The top Vietnamese leader hosted a reception for General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos Bounnhang in Hanoi on August 9.

Both sides congratulated the other country on the tremendous achievements in external and internal affairs after more than three years of carrying out resolutions of the national congresses of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP).

They expressed their confidence that under the leadership of the CPV and LPRP, the two nations will continue gain greater achievements in the cause of national reform, construction and defence, as well as realize successfully the targets set by the national congresses of each Party.

They hailed the timely and effective support and assistance the two Parties and States have given each other from the past to present.

The leaders affirmed their determination to work hand in hand to effectively implement agreements between the two countries’ senior leaders as well as spare no effort to preserve and nurture the traditional friendship, special solidarity and dimensional cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, and pass the relationship to young generations.

They briefed each other on the situation in Vietnam and Laos, especially the Party building, including preparations for all-level Party Congresses towards the National Congress of the CPV and LPRP.

Host and guest also compared notes on regional and global situations as well as measures to further foster the special solidarity between the two countries in the time to come.
