Vietnam wishes for stronger ties with Laos

VOV.VN - Vietnam will try its utmost to reinforce the special solidarity with Laos, Permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong said while receiving head of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP)’s Commission for Propaganda and Training on July 29 in Hanoi.

Vuong congratulated Laos on its tremendous achievements over the past three years since the beginning of the implementation of the resolution of the 10th National Party Congress of Laos.

The host expressed his belief that under the leadership of the LPRP, Laos will reap greater achievements in its reforms, successfully hold all-level party congresses towards the 11th National Party Congress. 

He hailed the collaboration between the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and the LPRP’s Commission for Propaganda and Training, and between the two central theoretical councils while expressing his hope that both sides would continue working hand in hand to strengthen information and experience sharing, study topics of shared concern, and clarify urgent issues faced by their respective nation. 

Phithoune, who is also President of the Central Theoretical Council and President of the Lao National Council for Social Sciences, is in Vietnam to attend the seventh theoretical workshop themed “Party and political system building in the new situation”.

He briefed the host on the outcomes of joint work between the two commissions, and between the Lao National Council for Social Sciences and the Central Theoretical Council. 

He urged both sides to raise public awareness, especially among the young generations, about the time-honoured friendship, special solidarity and all-around cooperation between the two nations.

The same day, head of the CPC Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education Vo Van Thuong held talks with the Lao official, during which they shared experience in making preparations for each party’s national congress. 

They pledged to effectively carry out agreements set by leaders, increase professional experience towards making greater contributions to deepening Vietnam–Laos ties. 

Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang and the Lao guest reviewed the implementation of cooperation agreement between the two councils in the exchange of information and delegations, and devise joint tasks for the time ahead during their earlier working session.
