Vietnam greatly values ties with Czech Republic

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed Vietnam’s recognition of importance to its relations with the Czech Republic and expressed his appreciation for contributions by the country’s Chamber of Deputies to the development of bilateral ties at a meeting Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Radek Vondracek in Prague on April 17.

The Vietnamese government leader asked the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic to make greater efforts to accelerate the European Union’s signing and ratification of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

He called for the two sides to boost the exchange of experience in legislative affairs, cooperation between the Vietnam-Czech Republic, and Czech Republic-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Groups, as well as collaboration in education-training, science-technology, the environment, agriculture, labour and between their localities.

PM Phuc also asked the lower house to continue offering the best possible conditions for the Vietnamese community in the country.

He also conveyed NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan’s invitation to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations in 2020 to Radek Vondracek.

Radek Vondracek highlighted PM Phuc’s visit as an important development step in bilateral whilst affirming the Chamber of Deputies attributes importance to Czech Republic-Vietnam traditional friendship, and fully supports the early signing and ratification of the EVFTA and the EVIPA.

He expressed his confidence that the early opening of a direct air route connecting Prague and Hanoi will contribute to stepping up bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and tourism.

The host also pledged to facilitate the lives of over 65,000 Vietnamese people in his country, and said he will arrange a visit to Vietnam at his convenience.
