Vietnam greatly values ADB’s assistance

VOV.VN - Vietnam holds high regard for the Asian Development Bank (ADB)’s assistance in capital funding and policy consultancy, Politburo member and head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh said at a reception for ADB Vice President Ahmed M. Saeed in Hanoi on July 2.

Binh, who is also Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission showed his elation at the fruitful cooperation between Vietnam and the ADB.

He also highlighted the bank’s provision of an accumulative funding of more than US$ 16 billion for 173 programmes and projects to help poverty eradication and socio-economic development in Vietnam.

Binh pledged the effective use of the loans from the lender for the country’s socio-economic growth.

In reply, Ahmed M. Saeed hailed the country’s goodwill cooperation with ADB as well as its workable policies to manage macro-economic stability and inflation and spur growth.

He affirmed his bank’s readiness to continue assisting Vietnam in developing transport infrastructure, energy, human resources, response to climate change, science-technology, and the development of the private sector.
