Vietnam, China conduct fishery inspection in Gulf of Tonkin

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese and Chinese coast guards on April 24 started their joint fishery inspection for this year in the Gulf of Tonkin with Vice Commander of the Vietnamese Coast Guard 1 Luong Cao Khai and deputy head of the Nan Hai branch office Liu Tianrong in attendance.

The two sides held talks onboard Vessel CSB 8004 to reach a consensus on fishery inspection in the area, including supervising the implementation of the fishery cooperation agreement at nine points in the Gulf of Tonkin’s joint fishing area

It was the 17th time they had carried out joint inspection since the agreement became effective Activities were focused on expertise exchange, inspection and supervision of fishermen’s fishing vessels. 

Liu expressed his appreciation for the growing ties between the Vietnamese and Chinese coast guards as a contribution to step up broad cooperation between the Vietnamese and Chinese law enforcement forces while deepening mutual understanding between the two countries’ governments and peoples. 

The same day, they presented gifts to Nguyen Van Son, captain of fishing Vessel TH 92016 TS with nine crewmembers aboard. 

The joint inspection will run till April 26.
