Ukraine-Vietnam Friendship Association holds eight congress in Kiev

VOV.VN - The Ukraine-Vietnam Friendship Association convened its eight congress on December 12 with the approval of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the two nations.

In his remarks, Chairman of the association Shlapak Alexandr Vitalievich said an array of practical activities would be launched next year to promote Vietnamese land and people in Ukraine, as well as serve as a bridge connecting bilateral ties in economics, trade and culture.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine and Moldova Nguyen Anh Tuan voiced the embassy’s support for and its readiness to accompany the association in implementing people-to-people diplomacy activities to deepen mutual understanding, and foster friendship and cooperation between the two countries in a wide range of fields.

The congress adopted a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Ukraine-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Vietnam-Ukraine Friendship Association for 2020-2024, and a cooperation plan between the two sides in 2020.

It also elected a new ten- member executive committee with Shlapak Alexandr Vitalievich, vice chairman of Ukraine’s business association, former Minister of Finance being re-elected as chairman.
