Top Vietnamese leader to visit Laos, Cambodia
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong is due to pay an official friendly visit to Laos from February 24-25, and a state visit to Cambodia from February 25-26, according to an announcement from the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations.
The visits will be made at the invitations of General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President Bounnhang Vorachith, and Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni.
Vietnam-Laos relations were founded by late Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh and his Lao counterpart Kaysone Phomvihane, and have been fostered by generations of leaders and the peoples of the two countries over the past seven decades.
Over the past years, the time-honoured friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation have been constantly strengthened.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1967, Vietnam and Cambodia have maintained mutual high-ranking visits and delegation exchanges between their ministries, sectors and localities.
