Thai PM to visit Vietnam

Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejajiva will pay an official visit to Vietnam on July 10 at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung.

During his stay in Vietnam, the PM is expected to hold talks with PM Nguyen Tan Dung and Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh.

At the talks, Mr Vejajiva and Vietnamese leaders will share experiences coping with the global financial crisis and measures to strengthen friendship and multi-lateral cooperation between the two countries, within the ASEAN bloc as well as at multilateral cooperative forums in the region.

This is the first visit made by Mr Vejajiva as Thai Prime Minister, who is observing the standard protocol for new leaders of ASEAN countries.
