In an article published by Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution (November 7, 1917-2017), President Quang wrote that the revolution gave birth to the Soviet Union, the world’s first workers-farmers state, and opened up a new era of international communist and worker movements as well as national liberation worldwide.
The October Revolution had a significant role in the collapse of the imperialist colony system and opened a new chapter of national independence and a transitional period toward socialism, he wrote.
Inspired by the October Revolution, the Communist Party of Vietnam led its people to victory, including the August Revolution 1945, Dien Bien Phu victory in 1954 and the Spring victory in 1975, President Quang stressed.
Despite complicated global developments, the October Revolution has served as a symbol for the strength of socialism. The lessons and experience of the revolution are still important to Vietnam’s reforms as well as national construction and protection, he concluded.
