The PM’s attendance at the summits and visit will be made at the invitation of RoK President Moon Jae-in.
The Commemorative Summit is set to take place in Busan, the Republic of Korea from November 25- 26 to mark the 30th anniversary of the dialogue partnership between ASEAN and the RoK.
This year’s summit will provide an opportunity for ASEAN and Korean leaders to review the partnership and outline cooperation orientations for the next decades.
Meanwhile, the first Mekong-RoK Summit is due to transpire in conjunction with the Commemorative Summit on November 27.
The Vietnam-RoK strategic partnership has made great strides in a multitude of fields such as politics, investment, trade and tourism.
The two-way trade between the two nations reached US$ 65.8 billion in 2018 and US$44 billion in the first eight months of 2019.
The visit by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc shows the RoK's appreciation for its cooperation with ASEAN, Mekong cooperation and bilateral cooperation with Vietnam and presents an opportunity for the two sides to deepen the Vietnam-RoK strategic partnership.
