NA leader elected as National Election Council Chair

VOV.VN - The National Assembly (NA) has adopted a resolution regarding the election of top Vietnamese legislator Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan as Chairwoman of the National Election Council with 462 out of 462 of votes in favour, making up 95.65% of the total number of NA deputies.

NA deputies voted to pass resolutions relating to the election of the Chair of the National Election Council on June 11, in addition to granting approval for the dismissal of both Vuong Dinh Hue from the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Nguyen Thanh Hai from the membership of the NA Standing committee.

The move comes after Vuong Dinh Hue was appointed as Secretary of the Party Committee of Hanoi in February, while Nguyen Thanh Hai was given the position of Secretary of Thai Nguyen provincial Party Committee in May.

Both resolutions on the pair’s dismissal were endorsed with 448 out of 452 and 434 out of 443 of votes going in favour of the proposals, representing 92.75% and 91.72% of the total number of NA deputies, respectively.

All resolution take effect from June 11.
