NA leader arrives in Siem Reap for APPF-27

VOV.VN - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and a high-ranking delegation arrived in Siem Reap, Cambodia on January 14 for the 27th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-27) from January 14-16.

The visit is made at the invitation of President of the Cambodian National Assembly Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin who doubles as Chairman of the APPF-27.

Those among welcoming guests at the airport included APPF-27 Organizing Committee representatives alongside Cambodian receptionists, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh and Consul General Le Tuan Khanh.

Through their attendance at the APPF-27, Vietnamese parliamentarians continue performing their proactive engagement in multilateral parliamentary diplomatic activities, thus raising the country’s role and position at this forum and exerting in joint diplomatic efforts for peace, cooperation and development.

The forum is seen as an opportune occasion for Vietnamese lawmakers to discuss with their peers from other nations about issues of their shared concern. The Vietnam National Assembly’s participation in the APPF-27 as the host country of APPF-26 will highlight its contributions to the APPF’s development.

Under the theme “Strengthening parliamentary partnership for peace, security, and sustainable development”, the APPF-27 will place priority on the goal of safeguarding peace, security and sustainable development.
