At a reception for the UK guest on December 3, Nhan congratulated Andrew on being honoured with Vietnam’s Friendship Order and called for his greater contributions to the Vietnam-UK relationship. He said he hopes that the UK will share its experience and incentivize UK businesses to invest in HCM City in the fields of their strength.
Andrew, in turn, stated that his visit is designed to expand comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam while highlighting 2018 as a significant landmark in 45 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations, which has opened up plenty of opportunities for developing practical cooperative progammes, including those in economics and investment.
The UK is currently one of the top trade and investment partners of the Vietnamese southern hub. During the first seven month of this year, two-way trade hit US$476 million. The European nation has run 146 projects totally capitalized at US$556 million in the city.
