HCM City to host Vietnam-China diplomatic ties anniversary

VOV.VN - Vice Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee Vo Thi Dung affirmed the city’s readiness to host a wide range of activities marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam – China diplomatic ties, thus making practical contributions to propelling the bilateral ties forwards.

At a recent reception for Zang An Min, Secretary General of the Organisation City, Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, Dung told her guest that the Party, State and people of Vietnam place great importance on the traditional relations and comprehensive cooperation with China .This is an unwavering and long-term advocate of the Vietnamese Government for the joint benefits of the two nations, she added.

Regarding economic cooperation, China is now placed 19th among the 107 countries and territories investing in HCM City with a combined capital of US$185 million. 

For many years, China is always among the five biggest sources of tourists to the city which is enjoying the ties of cooperation and friendship with eight Chinese localities.

Zang, for his part, highlighted the healthy growth of bilateral cooperative relations, and people-to-people exchanges, while hoping that the celebrations next year will provide a good chance for the two sides to continue strengthening exchanges and comprehensive strategic partnership, thus delivering mutual benefits to the two peoples.

He also hailed the role of HCM City in developing ties with Chinese localities, and expressed his confidence that the city will continue serving as a locomotive to Vietnam’s economic development.

Both sides also briefed each other on the development, challenges and opportunities for them towards fulfilling their goals for their national construction and development.
