The event was co-chaired by Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Cambodian Minister of Commerce Pan Sorasak and Lao Minister of Planning and Investment Souphan Keomisay.
The ministers approved recommendations submitted by the Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) of the CLV Development Triangle Area, and noted with satisfaction the implementation of the adjusted master plan on regional socio-economic development during 2010-2020, and the amended memorandum of understanding on special incentives in the area reached by the three countries.
Lauding contributions of development partners to regional socio-economic development over the past time, the ministers asked competent agencies of the three countries to organise more conferences with the partners to mobilize financial support for priority projects in the area.
They called for stronger CLV cooperation in such areas as security and external affairs, economy, trade, investment, tourism, culture, education, environment, telecommunications, and information and communications technology (ICT).
The Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Development was asked to coordinate with Lao and Cambodian partners to soon complete the plan on rubber industry development in the CLV Development Triangle Area.
The meeting requested that Cambodia promptly complete domestic procedures to enforce the agreement on trade promotion and facilitation in the development triangle area.
Lao Minister SouphanKeomisay suggested increasing investment attraction, tapping the strength of each locality and creating an open business environment in the area.
Cambodian Minister Pan Sorasak held that outcomes of the meeting will contribute to reducing poverty and improving living standards of regional residents.
