VOV.VN - An online conference is set to take place on May 29-30 to promote farm produce and food exports, with a particular focus being placed on the export of Bac Giang lychees to the Singaporean market, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The Plant Protection Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) held a teleconference with Japanese partners on May 14 to discuss the completion of procedures for the first exports of fresh lychee to this market.
The northern province of Bac Giang has so far exported over 32,215 tonnes of “thieu” lychee, a provincial specialty, to China, the US, Australia and Malaysia, accounting for nearly 25 percent of the province’s total production in the 2016 crop.
A workshop was held on June 13 to boost lychee exports to China via border gates in the northern mountainous province of Lang Son.
Businesses sought to promote the exports of Vietnamese fresh lychees to China via Lao Cai border gate at a meeting in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai on May 27.
As the first containers of Vietnam's lychees have been shipped to the US and Australia, the country will continue expanding fruit exports to other markets, such as the EU.
