Sales of automobiles plunged 28% year-on-year to 131,248 units in the first seven months of this year, according to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA).
Members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) sold 24,002 automobiles in June, up 26% compared to the previous month but down 13% year on year.
Car sales in November failed to meet expectations even though the year-end shopping season has started and despite various discounts of up to hundreds of millions of dong.
The automobile market is expected to set a new record in sales this year with VAMA members and TC Motors selling an average nearly 32,000 cars each month in January-September.
