World Travel Awards 2025 honours numerous Vietnamese destinations

VOV.VN - Vietnam received a series of top awards at the 2025 World Travel Awards (WTA) ceremony held in Bahrain on December 6, with recognition spanning world and regional categories for heritage, nature and tourism destinations.

Vietnam was named World’s Leading Heritage Destination and World’s Leading Nature Island Destination, while Phu Quoc Sunset Town won the title of World’s Leading Iconic Tourist Attraction.

Bai Kem beach in Phu Quoc was recognised as World’s Leading Regional Beach, and Tam Dao was named World’s Leading Town Destination. Moc Chau was honoured as World’s Leading Natural Destination.

A notable highlight was the recognition of the UNESCO Global Geopark Dong Van Karst Plateau, now part of Tuyen Quang province, as the World’s Leading Cultural Destination 2025. This marks the first time Tuyen Quang has received a world-class cultural tourism award, following its administrative merger with Ha Giang province.

Ho Chi Minh City was honoured in two categories: Asia’s Leading Festival and Event Destination and Asia’s Leading Business Travel Destination. Hanoi won titles for Asia’s Leading City Destination and Asia’s Leading City Break Destination, while Hoi An was named Asia’s Leading Cultural City.

Other winners included Ninh Binh, Vung Tau, Moc Chau, and Phu Quoc, which received multiple regional awards.
