Vietnam's largest tourism hot-air balloon launched in Ca Mau
VOV.VN - The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province launched the nation's largest hot-air balloon at Hung Vuong Square in Bac Lieu ward on August 31.
According to the department, the balloon stands approximately 28 meters tall with a diameter of 22 meters, a lifting capacity of 1.2 to 1.5 tonnes, and can accommodate 10 to 12 passengers per flight. Technicians inflate the balloon using high-capacity blowers and burners, taking just over 10 minutes.
The launch is part of the 1st Heritage Culture and Hot-Air Balloon Festival 2026, running from August 28 to September 2 to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2). Over the past three days, the event has attracted tens of thousands of residents and visitors.
The festival offers new experiences for locals while promoting the tourism image of Ca Mau, Vietnam's southernmost province, during the national holiday.
