Vietnam promotes distinctive travel experiences in US

VOV.VN - Vietnam will present its top travel destinations such as Ha Long, Ninh Binh, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc, together with beach resorts, cultural-heritage, golf, MICE, culinary, and premium travel experiences in the US.

Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai is leading a Vietnamese delegation to promote the country’s tourism in three US cities-Washington, D.C., New York, and Boston, through November 13.

The program“Vietnam: A World of Experiences, Exceptional Value,” is designed to strengthen Vietnam’s destination branding, boost tourism cooperation, and expand business connections between the two countries.

The delegation is introducing Vietnam’s popular tourist destinations such as Ha Long, Ninh Binh, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc, along with tourism products in beach and resort travel, culture and heritage, golf, MICE, gastronomy, wellness, and premium experiences. It also seeks to enhance partnerships between Vietnamese travel operators and their US counterparts, associations, airlines, and media organizations.

The program features a broad range of activities, including Vietnam-US business networking meetings, traditional art performances, networking receptions, lucky draws, and media events. It is expected to attract representatives from Vietnamese diplomatic agencies in the US, tourism associations, airlines, travel enterprises, and local media outlets.

The US always represents one of Vietnam’s key source markets, with visitors noted for high spending and long stays. Over the nine-month period, Vietnam welcomed around 623,000 US visitors, up 7.6% year-on-year, ranking fourth among international tourist markets.

According to VNAT, tourism exchanges between the two countries hold great growth potential, especially after Vietnam and the US elevated their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in September 2023.

Many US companies have invested in Vietnam’s tourism sector, while Vietnam Airlines has launched direct flights connecting both nations. Therefore, through tourism promotion events in the US, the Vietnamese tourism sector expects to attract more visitors to the country and further elevate Vietnam’s tourism brand on the global travel map.
