Vietnam Airlines offers 5.5 million domestic seats for summer travel peak
VOV.VN - During the summer travel peak, running through August 16, Vietnam Airlines Group, comprising Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO), will offer nearly 5.5 million seats across its domestic network to meet strong seasonal demand.
Under its summer operating plan, Vietnam Airlines Group will operate 28,300 domestic flights, representing a 5% increase in flight frequency compared with the same period last year.
The additional services will focus on key routes linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with popular tourist destinations including Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Hue and Quy Nhon, as well as high-demand regional cities such as Buon Ma Thuot, Vinh and Can Tho.
During this year’s peak season, the group continues to offer a wide range of promotional fares across its domestic network, with discounted tickets accounting for up to 40% of seats available on many routes.
In addition to peak-hour operations, the airlines will maintain early-morning and late-night flights with flexible pricing, a strategy aimed at spreading demand throughout the day and improving operational efficiency during the busy summer period.
Vietnam Airlines is also launching several digital promotional campaigns throughout the season, including its Tuesday “Quick Sale” programme with discounts of up to 10%, “Thursday Flash Deals” offering reductions of up to 15%, and “Weekend Sale” promotions providing discounts of up to 10% across all fare classes.
To prepare for the summer surge, the group began planning early, allocating aircraft and staffing resources while enhancing service capacity at airports. It is also increasing the use of technology in operations management to ensure service quality and maintain on-time performance.
On the international network, the carrier continues to expand operations in key markets. In the coming months, it will launch direct flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Phuket, open a Hanoi–Amsterdam route in June 2026, and increase the frequency of its Hanoi–Moscow service to four flights per week from July 1, 2026.
