Travel + Leisure selects Vietnam among top 10 Gen Z destinations
VOV.VN - Vietnam has been named one of the world's top 10 destinations for Gen Z travelers by Travel + Leisure, highlighting its rich cuisine, vibrant culture, and diverse natural landscapes.
The travel magazine ranked Vietnam fifth on its list, reflecting a growing preference among young travelers for authentic cultural experiences and unspoiled nature.
According to Kayak's What the Future Report 2026, 69% of Gen Z travelers want to explore lesser-known destinations, while 84% prefer rural areas or smaller cities over traditional tourist hotspots.
Travel + Leisure noted that Gen Z travelers are moving beyond social media-famous destinations in favor of places that offer deeper insights into local culture, lifestyles, and traditions.
In the magazine’s article, Tara Cappel, founder of FTLO Travel, said Vietnam has long been her favorite destination since she first visited the country in her 20s.
“From the wonderful local people to the incredible food to the history and culture, there is so much to see and do here,” she stressed.
Tara Cappel revealed that a typical trip begins in Hanoi, where historic architecture, bustling streets, and renowned street food set the tone for the journey. Travelers can then continue to Ho Chi Minh City before visiting Hoi An, one of Vietnam's most charming and best-preserved historic towns. No trip is complete without a visit to Ha Long Bay, where thousands of limestone islands rise from the waters off the country's northern coast.
Rounding off the world's top 10 destinations for Gen Z travelers were Dominica, Morocco, Belize, Austin (Texas, U.S.), Vietnam, Sardinia (Italy), La Paz (Mexico), Costa Rica, Hilo (Hawaii, U.S.), and Punta Gorda (Florida, U.S.).
