Sun PhuQuoc Airways expands direct routes to RoK, to enlarge fleet to 32 aircraft

VOV.VN - Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) launched two new direct air routes connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Seoul, the Republic of Korea (RoK), on August 25, operating one daily return flight on each route.

Together with its existing Phu Quoc-Seoul service, the new routes enable SPA to directly connect the RoK capital with Vietnam’s three major gateways.

Under the flight schedule, the Hanoi -Seoul flight departs at 4:20 p.m. and arrives in Seoul at 10:45 p.m. (local time). The return flight takes off at 0:15 a.m. and lands in Hanoi at 3:10 a.m.

For the Ho Chi Minh City -Seoul route, the service leaves Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 3:25 p.m. and touches down in Seoul at 10:40 p.m., while the return leg departs at 0:10 a.m. and reaches Ho Chi Minh City at 3:35 a.m.

Regarding fleet expansion, SPA plans to increase its fleet to 32 aircraft in 2026, including four wide-body Airbus A330s scheduled for delivery between October and December 2026. The addition of wide-body aircraft will provide the foundation for the carrier to expand medium- and long-haul capacities while further developing its international network.

SPA’s international route network currently covers destinations including Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Chengdu, and Kuala Lumpur, alongside the new Seoul services.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the RoK is one of Vietnam’s key source markets for international tourists, recording approximately 4.3 million arrivals in 2025 and over 1.32 million in the first quarter of 2026.

Conversely, Vietnamese visitor arrivals to the RoK rose nearly 30% year-on-year as a result of growing trade, investment, and tourism ties between the two nations.
