Self-drive tour across Vietnam-China border launched

VOV.VN - A self-drive cross-border tour through Vietnam’s Lang Son province and China’s Guangxi province has been inaugurated at Huu Nghi Border Gate.

The first delegation comprising 30 vehicles with 60 Chinese tourists was allowed to travel through Huu Nghi Border Gate to the northern city of Lang Son on selected routes which have been agreed by both sides, excluding border belt roads.

In the other direction, Vietnamese tourists can self-drive for a visit to the cities of Chongzuo and Nanning in Guangxi province.

Pham Minh Dao, vice director of the Lang Son provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said self-drive tours will help to increase the number of visitors exchanges between the two provinces and both countries overall and will facilitate the development of transport and tourism in China and Vietnam.

It marks a new step in tourism cooperation and the exploitation of border tourism products of the two provinces, Mr Dao said, adding that the two sides will make greater efforts to invest in producing new tourism products to meet visitors’ demands.
