Quang Ninh welcomes half a million visitors over national holidays

The number of tourist arrivals to Ha Long Bay increased sharply with more than 2,700 boats carrying 81,000 passengers, including nearly 28,000 foreigners visiting the Bay. On April 30 alone, 29,000 people visited Ha Long Bay. Besides, tours of Van Don-Quan Lan, Minh Chau and Co To islands drew nearly 80,000 travellers.

A wide range of cultural and sports activities were held in Quang Ninh over the national holidays for Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labour Day (May 1) mainly in Ha Long City, such as the opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2018, Carnival Ha Long, the Mon Asian Food Fest – MAFF 2018 and the Colour Mon Run.

The occupation rate of three to five star hotels in Quang Ninh reached 95% and even 100% on April 28-29.

Meanwhile, Mong Cai City welcomed 50,000 tourists and even around 10,000 Chinese visitors travelled to Quang Ninh via Mong Cai border gate a day.
