Noi Bai Airport opens dedicated immigration lanes, reorganizes pick-up zones

Airport representatives noted that this dedicated system enables Vietnamese citizens to easily identify processing areas, easing congestion during peak hours and optimizing passenger flows through immigration control. While major airports worldwide commonly provide dedicated entry lanes for domestic citizens, the adjustment at Noi Bai has sharply cut wait times from over an hour down to just 4 to 5 minutes, drawing strong public support.

Alongside the immigration update, Noi Bai implemented a reorganized vehicle pick-up and drop-off scheme starting at 7:00 AM on August 3 to thoroughly resolve local congestion and maintain smooth traffic around the terminals.

Under the new traffic arrangement, traditional franchised taxis pick up passengers in dedicated lanes directly adjacent to the terminals, specifically Lane 2 at Domestic Terminal T1 and Lane 4 at International Terminal T2.

Meanwhile, ride-hailing vehicles under nine seats, such as Grab and Xanh SM, are relocated to centralized parking areas to ensure safety and prevent gridlock.

Passengers using these services must follow directional signs to designated pick-up zones at Parking Lot P2 near Hall E for Terminal T1, and Parking Lot P1, with overflow directed to Lot P7, for Terminal T2.

While these adjustments require passengers using ride-hailing services to walk a short distance, airport representatives emphasized that following clear directional flows and utilizing centralized parking zones effectively eliminates mixed-traffic bottlenecks and improves overall terminal efficiency.
