Ninth Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea festival set for May 11
VOV.VN - The People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province held a press conference in Nha Trang city on April 26 to announce the schedule for the 2019 National Tourism Year along with the ninth Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival.
An array of the program’s activities are scheduled to be held across the country throughout the year, with a total of 13 events being held national by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in collaboration with relevant local agencies.
Khanh Hoa is due to host 10 major events along with 50 additional activities, while a wide range of culture and tourism events are to be held in 14 other cities and provinces during the event.
The ninth Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea festival is to be held in response to the 2019 National Tourism Year. The program will see a diverse range of events take place such as festivals, as well as art and cultural programs that promote the image, culture, and people of Nha Trang.
Around 60 cultural and art programs will take place during the festival, which is scheduled to take place between May 11 and May 14 in Nha Trang. These include a whale worshipping festival, a bird’s nest culinary festival, folk games, a game of human chess, and a coracle shaking competition.
Scientific seminars and fine arts exhibitions will be held alongside sporting activities in several localities across the region.
Upon addressing the press conference, Nguyen Dac Tai, vice chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, said the festival aims to promote the image of a dynamic land to both local and international friends. The event hopes to show that the province is on the right track towards development through programs that represent Vietnam’s cultural identities.
In preparation for these events, Khanh Hoa province has improved its state management capabilities, upgraded facilities within the tourism sector, and implemented a code of conduct for tourists.
In addition, social order and security are also maintained along with food safety and hygiene standards to ensure safety for visitors.
