New air route boosts Khanh Hoa – Quang Tri tourism links

VOV.VN - A newly launched air route between Dong Hoi and Cam Ranh is opening up fresh opportunities for tourism cooperation between Khanh Hoa and Quang Tri, with travel businesses preparing to develop new tour products and strengthen destination connectivity.

According to Pham Minh Nhut, chairman of the Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, a famtrip delegation comprising leading travel companies from Khanh Hoa will visit Quang Tri from August 14 to 18 to survey tourism attractions, services and infrastructure.

The programme aims to help businesses design new tour packages for both domestic and international visitors and expand cooperation between the two provinces.

During the visit, the delegation will inspect several of Quang Tri's best-known destinations, including the Quang Tri Citadel, Hien Luong Bridge – Ben Hai River, Vinh Moc Tunnels, Cua Tung Beach and Phong Nha Cave. Participants will also assess accommodation facilities and tourism infrastructure.

The delegation will also attend the Khanh Hoa Cultural Festival in Quang Tri 2026 and hold meetings with tourism businesses from both provinces to develop joint tourism products in the future.

A key highlight of the programme will be a tourism promotion conference and a signing ceremony of a cooperation document between Khanh Hoa and Quang Tri.

Nhut said the launch of Sun PhuQuoc Airways' Dong Hoi–Cam Ranh service, slated for August 16 and operating three flights a week, has significantly improved travel connectivity between the two provinces, creating favourable conditions for tourism and business exchanges.

Both Khanh Hoa and Quang Tri boast diverse tourism resources, ranging from beaches and islands to historical sites and cultural heritage attractions.

Closer cooperation is expected to diversify tourism products, encourage two-way visitor flows and attract more international travellers through integrated destination packages.
