Local firm temporarily suspends receiving Russian tourists to Nha Trang

VOV.VN - Anex Vietnam Travel and Trading Co., Ltd announced on March 17 that it has imposed a temporary suspension on welcoming Russian tourists to Nha Trang city in the southcentral province of Khanh Hoa.

Bui Quoc Dai, deputy director of Anex Vietnam, revealed that the decision was made following the Russian Government advising airlines to limit flights to foreign countries and the US and Western countries placing sanctions on Russia.

“We have temporarily suspended welcoming tourists in line with Russia’s advice and will resume flights when the situation is stable again,” said Dai.

Dai noted that the firm will arrange flights aimed at bringing home Russian tourists who have already flown to Nha Trang, according to the contracts signed with the company.

This comes after March 16 saw Anex and its partner organise a flight to bring 300 Russian tourists from Cam Ranh to Moscow after completing a tour of Nha Trang. The remaining tourists are expected to board a flight back to Russia on March 17.

Since December 26, 2021, the tour operator has welcomed approximately 6,000 Russian visitors to Khanh Hoa under the vaccine passport scheme.

After the Russia-Ukraine conflict broke out the firm was forced to reduce the frequency of flights and has duly suffered losses as it has been forced to lease aircraft to bring Russian tourists home.
