Hong Kong gives away 8,800 free air tickets to Vietnamese passengers

VOV.VN - The Hong Kong Tourism Board has decided to give away 8,800 free return airline tickets to Vietnamese passengers as part of efforts aimed at reviving its tourism industry and attracting visitors back to the city after lifting COVID-19 restrictions.

The move is part of the ‘Hello Hong Kong’ campaign, which includes a giveaway of 500,000 free airline tickets to travelers from all around the globe.

All free tickets will be distributed through the Hong Kong-based carrier Cathay Pacific for travelers across Southeast Asia.

The Vietnamese part of the campaign will be launched at midday on March 17 and will run to 12:59 p.m. on March 23 (local time). In order to receive the free tickets, local passengers must register to be a Cathay member by signing up via the carrier’s website.

Each participant is only allowed one entry and must answer three questions, with the winners being announced on the campaign website on April 4.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board has also co-operated with 16,000 local businesses as part of the campaign to give away free drinks at bars, restaurants, and hotels, as well as offering a huge number of vouchers to people visiting the city.

This includes offering discounts on attractions, food and beverage consumption, and shopping.
