Hanoi welcomes first tourists of the New Year
VOV.VN - The Hanoi Department of Tourism hosted a ceremony on the morning of January 1 in collaboration with relevant units as part of efforts to welcome the capital’s first group of tourists of 2021.
At the event aimed at welcoming the group of 20 visitors, Tran Trung Hieu, deputy director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, underlined the significance of receiving guests at the Temple of Literature, known locally as Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam, a leading tourist site in Hanoi. Indeed, the role of the function is part of wider efforts to open up bright prospects ahead for the tourism industry in 2021.
Furthermore, the event is part of activities in response to the "Vietnamese people travel in Vietnam" scheme, with the purpose of stimulating domestic tourism demand, introducing high-quality tourism products and services to guests, whilst elevating the image of the culture and history of Hanoi to both foreign and local tourists.
Moving into 2021, Hanoi’s tourism industry will continue to carry out plans to boost domestic tourism by designing attractive and unique tour packages, with the ultimate aim to welcome between 13 million and 19 million visitors, representing nearly two-fold increase compared to 2020, Hieu emphasised.
