Gia Lai to host Vietnam Travel Day 2026, welcome int’l travel firms
VOV.VN - Vietnam Travel Day 2026 is scheduled to take place in Quy Nhon ward, Gia Lai province from August 13 to 17 with the aim of connecting markets, promoting images of destinations, and fostering tourism trade domestically and internationally.
According to the Vietnam Tourism Association, the event is considered the highlight of the National Tourism Year-Gia Lai 2026 series of events and marks the second edition following its first successful organization held in Quang Ninh last year.
The event is expected to bring together approximately 550 delegates, including representatives of 150 international travel agencies from key markets such as the Republic of Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Russia, China, Malaysia, and India. In addition, the gathering will feature around 200 domestic travel agencies and nearly 200 tourism service providers from Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Quang Ngai.
Apart from promotional activities, Vietnam Travel Day 2026 is to serve as a forum for substantive connections among travel agencies, destinations, hotel and resort chains, restaurants, entertainment providers, and domestic and international tourism promotion agencies.
A series of activities will be held, including familiarization trips (fam trips), business-to-business (B2B) meetings and destination experience programmes. International buyers are expected to travel from Da Nang and Khanh Hoa to Gia Lai to explore local tourism products, participate in business networking sessions and experience the province’s tourism offerings.
The Vietnam Tourism Association will collaborate with the Gia Lai provincial People's Committee to organise an international travel forum about measures to attract foreign arrivals to Vietnam. The forum will bring together policymakers, tourism associations, local authorities, travel companies, airlines, accommodation providers, destinations and media organisations.
Hosting the 2nd Vietnam Travel Day is to support Gia Lai's efforts to strengthen regional connectivity and enhance its tourism profile following the recent administrative merger. Beyond promoting the destination and stimulating travel demand, the event will create opportunities for greater cooperation among businesses, investors and tourism stakeholders from Vietnam and abroad.
