Friendly service earns Hanoi top ranking among world’s most welcoming cities
VOV.VN - Hanoi has been ranked second among the world’s top 20 cities for friendly customer service by UK-based comparison platform MoneySuperMarket, making it the sole representative from Southeast Asia on the global list.
To build the ranking, MoneySuperMarket analyzed over 100,000 customer reviews of leisure and hospitality businesses across 107 cities worldwide, tracking how frequently friendly staff and service were mentioned. Edinburgh, UK, topped the list with 59.0% of reviews highlighting friendly staff. Hanoi took a close second place at 58.6%, outranking major international tourism hubs including Liverpool, Paris, Dublin, Montreal, Vienna, and Abu Dhabi.
According to MoneySuperMarket, much of Hanoi's warmth can be attributed to "a deeply rooted culture of community and social harmony in Vietnam, with a rich tradition of hospitality culture." These factors ensure international visitors feel welcome, comfortable, and well looked after throughout their stay and service experiences in the capital.
The study emphasizes that exceptional customer service and genuine hospitality remain vital to building visitor loyalty and boosting tourism growth. Hanoi's high standing further reinforces Vietnam’s reputation on the global travel map as a safe, friendly, and captivating destination offering rich cultural experiences.
