Enjoy Da Nang Festival 2026 launched with immersive coastal experiences
VOV.VN - The central coastal city of Da Nang opened the Enjoy Da Nang Festival 2026 on July 23, kicking off four days of cultural, sporting and tourism activities designed to enrich visitor experiences and showcase the city's distinctive coastal identity.
Running through July 26, the annual festival has become one of Da Nang's signature summer tourism events, combining entertainment, local culture and outdoor recreation to attract both domestic and international visitors.
Speaking at the opening ceremony at East Sea Park, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasised the festival has evolved into an important component of the city's summer tourism calendar, helping diversify tourism products and create memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike.
Da Nang will continue investing in new tourism offerings, improving service quality, promoting digital transformation and strengthening regional connectivity while maintaining a safe, friendly and sustainable tourism environment, she said.
New experiences along Da Nang's coastline
This year's festival introduces a range of themed activity zones operating from morning until late evening across the city's beaches.
One of the highlights is a traditional coastal food market, recreating the atmosphere of rural areas of former Quang Nam province, now part of Da Nang, with local cuisine, handicrafts and cultural displays celebrating the region's heritage.
Visitors can also explore the Enjoy Da Nang Coastal Route, where large-scale artistic installations combine lighting effects with iconic fishing boats, bamboo structures, lanterns and traditional fishing nets to recreate the character of Vietnam's central coastline.
For the first time, the festival is staging a Light Kite Night, featuring around 500 illuminated kites flying above the beach after sunset.
Another new attraction is the seaside lighting party, blending multimedia light installations, live performances, music and gastronomy to create a new night-time tourism experience.
Festival organisers said bringing large-scale artistic performances to the beachfront not only enriches Da Nang's summer tourism offerings but also demonstrates the potential of the city's coastline as a venue for major public events.
Beyond entertainment, this year's programme also introduces wellness-focused activities inspired by nature.
Visitors can participate in Meditation for Inner Peace at Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula, where meditation sessions, tea ceremonies, sound therapy and discussions on mindful living offer a quieter alternative to the city's vibrant beach festivities.
According to Tan Van Vuong, deputy director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the festival's theme, "Da Nang – Return to Origins," reflects the city's ambition to reconnect visitors with its natural landscapes, cultural heritage and local way of life.
“The festival is more than simply a summer celebration,” Vuong said. “It is a journey that allows visitors to experience a Da Nang that is more authentic, more intimate and more memorable. Our goal is to build tourism around cultural identity while placing visitor experience and sustainable development at the heart of the city's strategy."
The festival also features a packed programme of beach sports competitions, including barefoot beach running, national youth beach handball, beach volleyball, beach football and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) races around Son Tra Peninsula.
Meanwhile, surrounding venues and tourism destinations are hosting complementary events, including Quang Phu – Summer Colours, the An Bang Beach Festival, the Co Co River Heritage Festival, Cu Lao Cham – Red Ngo Dong Flower Season, and the Ky Anh Tunnel Cultural and Tourism Festival, extending the festive atmosphere across the wider region.
Supporting Da Nang's tourism momentum
The festival comes as Da Nang's tourism sector continues to record strong growth. During the first six months of 2026, accommodation establishments welcomed nearly 9.8 million visitors, up 22.5% year on year.
International arrivals reached almost 5.2 million, an increase of 28.7%, while domestic visitors exceeded 4.6 million, rising 16.2% compared with the same period last year.
Revenue from accommodation and food services was estimated at VND32.4 trillion (approximately US$1.24 billion), up 21.6% year on year.
The city has also hosted a series of high-profile events this year, including the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, the Da Nang Food Tour Festival and numerous beach sports competitions, helping sustain strong visitor growth throughout the summer season.
By combining culture, arts, sports and coastal attractions within a single programme, Enjoy Da Nang Festival 2026 is expected to further strengthen Da Nang's reputation as one of Vietnam's premier tourism destinations while supporting the city's long-term strategy of developing high-quality, sustainable and culturally distinctive tourism.
