Da Nang tops Thai searches for month-long overseas stays
VOV.VN - Da Nang has emerged as the most-searched overseas destination among Thai travellers seeking stays of at least 30 nights, surpassing Bali, Tokyo, and Kuala Lumpur, Thai newspaper The Nation reported on August 23, citing data from Agoda Thailand.
The trend shows a growing appetite among Thai tourists for spending at least 30 nights abroad as flexible working arrangements make it easier to combine work and leisure.
According to Agoda, other top-searched international destinations for stays of 30 nights or more include Bali (Indonesia), Tokyo (Japan), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), and Seoul (the Republic of Korea).
Da Nang generated the strongest interest due to its relatively affordable living costs, modern amenities, and convenient access to both beaches and urban lifestyles. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City and Seoul stood out for offering a combination of affordability, culture, and quality of life.
Seaside and island destinations ranked prominently overall, suggesting that travellers seeking extended stays favor locations surrounded by nature capable of supporting a work-life balance.
Domestically, the coastal resort city of Pattaya topped the list for Thai travellers, followed by the islands of Phuket and Koh Samui, as well as Hua Hin and Cha-am.
Akkaporn Rodkong, Agoda Country Director for Thailand and Indochina, noted that the findings showed Thai travellers were increasingly interested in longer stays at overseas destinations capable of meeting their lifestyle and practical needs.
