Da Nang hosts one of its largest MICE groups of 2026
VOV.VN - Da Nang is hosting a domestic MICE delegation of around 5,000 people this week, one of the largest such groups to visit the city in 2026, according to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The group, made up of employees of WinCommerce JSC, is participating in conferences, sightseeing tours and leisure activities at some of Da Nang’s best-known destinations.
The large-scale event further highlights Da Nang’s growing appeal in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism segment, which has become one of the city’s strategic tourism pillars in recent years.
To support the delegation, local authorities coordinated security, transportation and logistics plans. Da Nang police deployed measures to ensure public security and traffic management around accommodation areas and event venues, while the city’s construction department assisted with traffic coordination to ensure smooth transportation for the group.
Tran Thi Kim Cuc, director of Vietravel's Vietnam MICE Centre, said Da Nang's modern infrastructure, tourism services and diverse tourism products have helped attract large-scale MICE events.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city has continued to expand support policies and promote its event-hosting capabilities as part of efforts to develop the MICE sector.
The city's MICE tourism promotion programme, launched in 2021, was upgraded in 2026 under the theme "Da Nang – Elevating the MICE Tourism Experience," with additional support measures for domestic and international business groups.
Earlier this year, Da Nang launched the "MICE – The Rising Wave" award to recognise businesses that contributed to attracting MICE visitors in 2025.
In the first five months of 2026, the city received 101 domestic and international MICE groups totaling 28,428 visitors, including 18,908 international and 9,520 domestic travelers.
MICE tourism continued to grow during the period, particularly among international visitors, with increasing numbers of groups arriving from India, Malaysia, China, Singapore and other markets.
